&Wider – We help companies in different sectors to monitor and improve the working conditions in their global supply chains. Using our cloud platform, we call workers on their mobile phones to ask them about their working conditions. Our results offer our clients clarity and confidence about working conditions in their supply chain. After all, with a clear picture, our clients know where workers’ lives need improvement and are better able to direct resources to support the greatest impact. Key Duties Together with the Impact Scaling team, you will divide your time between monitoring the news, approaching new potential clients, keeping our databases updated and overseeing the onboarding process of new clients:   Monitoring the news regarding working conditions and human rights, making sure we respond actively to things happening in our field.  Preparing for and attending industry events (mostly events focused on sustainability/sustainable sourcing).   Initiating conversations going with brands/retailers/suppliers  Scheduling appointments for potential clients with Scaling Impact team members. Maintaining databases throughout all the steps of the sales funnel and subsequently conducting analysis to inform strategic decisions on this with other team members.  Overseeing and supporting the onboarding process of clients.  Pulling together relevant case studies based on our data/conversations and supporting content development related to the blog and social media.  Key Requirements We are a small team delivering high quality work quickly. As we are working in a sensitive sector, the margins for error are small and building trust with our clients and partners is essential. Also, as we are a fast-growing organization, flexibility and proactiveness are key (e.g. helping to build better processes and systems on the go). Other requirements include: A university degree (minimum undergraduate degree).  1+ years of working/internship experience, preferably in a client-facing role requiring communication skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Writing is a big plus! You are flexible, autonomous, a self-starter, love to be challenged and learn, have the ability to work under pressure and have quick switching abilities.  Strong attention to detail (e.g. required for keeping our databases updated).   Our working environment Within &Wider, we all have a passion for workers’ rights. &Wider was founded in 2014 and uses a cloud platform to monitor working conditions along supply chains for big brands, suppliers and auditors. Our results offer our clients clarity and confidence about working conditions in their supply chains. With a clear picture of working conditions through our data, our clients know where workers’ lives need improvement and are better able to manage the stability of supply and reputational, legal and ethical risks. We are looking for an intern who is passionate about making a positive impact. The key responsibilities will consist of continuing the research regarding making our internal processes more efficient. Furthermore, you will work on mapping the landscape we are active in and doing research for sector events. In case you are interested in content creation/design, there is also room to bring some fresh and innovative ideas and assisting to manage and grow our social media presence, writing up some fresh new content to be featured on our various social media platforms, our blog and our new website. Key Requirements We are a small team delivering high quality work quickly. As we are a fast-growing organization, flexibility and proactiveness are key.  Further requirements include: Currently pursuing or having completed a bachelor’s degree.  A strong interest in human rights and/or ethical trade.  Research experience; designing and delivering independent research on a meaningful topic, whether it be study-related or for a previous job position.  An ability to communicate complex ideas and systems using simple language.
