Salary £81,497 – £90,015 (Grade 11)
The London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB) is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to lead its Circular Economy Programme.
LWARB plays an important role in delivering the Mayor of London’s aspiration for the capital to be a low carbon circular city and is a partnership of the Mayor and London’s councils. Over the last five years, LWARB, through its Circular London programme, has become recognised as a world leader in circular economy thinking and practice. We are committed to increasing our impact, providing expert help and advice to London’s local authorities and developing commercial services for businesses and other cities in the UK and internationally.
The Head of Programme will lead the development and implementation of programmes to accelerate the development of a circular economy in London – increasing recycling, reducing waste and thereby addressing the climate emergency by reducing consumption-based CO2e emissions. You will help manage our investments in circular economy start-ups and provide help and advice to SMEs that want to develop circular economy business models.
Managing a dynamic and high performing team, you will have direct involvement with London’s key decision makers and will need the gravitas to influence the direction of COVID recovery work in the rapidly evolving green and low carbon economy. We are looking for an individual with a track record of delivering successful projects in the circular economy or related environmental sectors, and who can help to make a real impact to reduce London’s consumption-based emissions significantly over the next decade.
This is a high-profile position and the post holder will be expected to represent LWARB at external events (London, UK and international).
London’s diversity is its biggest asset and we wish to ensure our workforce reflects that diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability, and actively encourage applications from BAME individuals who are currently under-represented in our organisation.
