Job Description

&Wider – We help companies in different sectors to monitor and improve the working conditions in their global supply chains. Using our cloud platform, we call workers on their mobile phones to ask them about their working conditions. Our results offer our clients clarity and confidence about working conditions in their supply chain. After all, with a clear picture, our clients know where workers’ lives need improvement and are better able to direct resources to support the greatest impact.

Key Duties
Together with the Impact Scaling team, you will divide your time between monitoring the news, approaching new potential clients, keeping our databases updated and overseeing the onboarding process of new clients:

  • Monitoring the news regarding working conditions and human rights, making sure we respond actively to things happening in our field.
  • Preparing for and attending industry events (mostly events focused on sustainability/sustainable sourcing).
  • Initiating conversations going with brands/retailers/suppliers
  • Scheduling appointments for potential clients with Scaling Impact team members.
  • Maintaining databases throughout all the steps of the sales funnel and subsequently conducting analysis to inform strategic decisions on this with other team members.
  • Overseeing and supporting the onboarding process of clients.
  • Pulling together relevant case studies based on our data/conversations and supporting content development related to the blog and social media.

Key Requirements
We are a small team delivering high quality work quickly. As we are working in a sensitive sector, the margins for error are small and building trust with our clients and partners is essential. Also, as we are a fast-growing organization, flexibility and proactiveness are key (e.g. helping to build better processes and systems on the go).

Other requirements include:

  • A university degree (minimum undergraduate degree).
  • 1+ years of working/internship experience, preferably in a client-facing role requiring communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Writing is a big plus!
  • You are flexible, autonomous, a self-starter, love to be challenged and learn, have the ability to work under pressure and have quick switching abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail (e.g. required for keeping our databases updated).

Our working environment
Within &Wider, we all have a passion for workers’ rights. Our work directly drives social impact. We strongly believe that work should be fun as well as meaningful. We are a diverse team and highly value an inclusive working environment. We are a dynamic, fun, collaborative and supportive team that enjoys working together. Besides a team in Cape Town, we also have a team in Amsterdam and a team member in Chile.

Join us to gain unbeatable work experience and enjoy the rewards of growing &Wider and its impact!
