The Senior Consultant role

This role is based in our London office and will involve working closely with our other consultants, researchers, entrepreneurs and creative thinkers, across a wide variety of client projects. Our clients are widely spread and so the role may involve international travel.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Providing high quality strategic counsel and advice to senior clients

  • Leading a range of strategy, engagement, communications and operational projects. This may include deep issue specific research, stakeholder roundtables, strategy development and goal setting, external and internal communications programmes

  • Directing and overseeing client work from pitching to delivering including budgets, time plans and ongoing management

  • Briefing colleagues and leading on the approach to solutions and thinking

  • Ensuring excellent work at all times

  • Preparing strong presentations, research materials and written reports

  • Leading senior level meetings and engagements with clients and other stakeholders

  • Actively contributing to company thought leadership, events and marketing initiatives

Required skills and experience

  • At least 10 years in a sustainability consultancy role (client side experience also welcomed)

  • Inspiring, engaging and persuasive writing, pitching and presentation skills

  • Eloquent creative thinker, with big ideas and able to bring them to fruition

  • Able to engage with and influence senior decision makers and stakeholders

  • Solid grounding in all areas of sustainability and responsible business, and ideally with a deep specialism in more than one area of our work, sectors or topics.

  • Skilled and trusted relationship builder, able to establish and grow accounts and own network

  • Able to effectively self-manage and deliver your own projects

  • Motivated, proactive and passionate to always do great work

  • Confident working with senior colleagues and liaising with C-suite level clients

  • Relish the challenges and opportunities of working in a small team in a fast-paced environment

  • Innately client-oriented, responsive and agile

  • Good understanding of the levers to achieve change

  • Eye for detail including excellent written and numerical skills
