Job Description

Job Title:  Event Coordinator | Purslane Catering

Reports To: Managing Director

Purslane is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated event coordinator to work with the coordination and operations team in ensuring the operational execution of our offsite catering events. This position will focus on seamless and sustainable execution of catering events for a wide range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as main point of contact for designated clients from the contract signing up to the event date
  • Schedule rental showroom appointments and walkthroughs as needed with clients,
  • Manage rental orders and staffing requests for all events
  • Create floor plans as needed
  • Lead and attend client tastings
  • Support the Event Management team in facilitation and administration including liquor permit applications, beverage ordering, event costing, and event pack outs
  • Act as onsite event manager for designated clients including assisting with load-out and load-in, checking in rentals, lead venue set up and break down the venue, interfacing with the captain and service staff to ensure a smooth and successful event
  • Maintain necessary supply inventories
  • Follow up with all clients and appropriate vendors post-event
  • Develop and manage SOPs for event coordination to increase efficiency where possible
  • Work closely with event, operations, and culinary staff for all events
  • Work closely with clients to align to their budgets and needs while maximizing revenue
  • Contribute to menu development with Executive Chef and Operation counterparts
  • Champion and lead our mission to provide high quality food while eliminating waste and pushing sustainability through our entire value chain


  • 3+ years of event and/or catering specific event production or management
  • Excellent in person, phone, and email communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Team player with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work independently and self report on progress
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • Strong organization skills
  • Flexible and creative thinker with ability to find solutions
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
