Job Description

Job Title:  Enterprise Catering Sales Manager| Purslane Catering

Reports To: Managing Director

Purslane is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Enterprise Catering Sales Manager to work with the sales team in growing our events revenue across multiple channels. This position will focus on building new business in new markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract and close catering within new and burgeoning markets according to aggressive sales goals
  • Implement the brand’s value proposition strategy and initiatives in all aspects of the sales process
  • Drive customer loyalty by delivering excellent service and developing authentic relationships with clients
  • Achieve goals by aligning product and price successfully to clients’ needs and up selling at each opportunity to maximize revenue
  • Work closely with operations and kitchen team to ensure sales are successfully and effectively executed with high client satisfaction
  • Build consistent repeat business in appropriate market categories. 
  • Lead cold outgoing calls and emails
  • Generate leads, close contracts, and build sales revenue for events based on individual, segment, and team sales goals
  • Create a prospecting strategy for your markets to ensure lead pipeline goals are met
  • Understand the NYC catering market including our competitors, economic trends, sustainability efforts and know how to sell accordingly.
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities
  • Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts
  • Work with executive team to adjust and implement a catering sales plan addressing revenue, customers and markets
  • Provide forecasting and sales reports
  • Develop and implement promotional plans as needed
  • Participate in and develop brand and marketing outreach events including trade events and facetime with clients
  • Actively contribute to company marketing initiatives and maintain marketing materials
  • Develop menus with operations team and executive chef that drive sales
  • Seamlessly handover bookings from sales to operations while consistently delivering high level of service
  • Execute with discipline and rigor to consistently exceed goals
  • Champion and lead our mission to provide high quality food while eliminating waste and pushing sustainability through our entire value chain


  • 4+ years of professional sales experience managing the full sales cycle
  • 3+ years of event and/or catering specific sales experience with proven experience in growing and closing sales
  • Excellent in person, phone, and email communication skills
  • Motivated and confident in developing new business and expanding current
  • Results driven
  • Team player with entrepreneur spirit
  • Ability to work independently and self-report on progress
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • Strong organization skills
  • Flexible and creative thinker with ability to find solutions
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
