Impossible Foods was founded in 2011 to create a truly sustainable global food system by inventing an efficient, sustainable way to transform plants into irresistibly delicious, nutritious food -- food that delivers all the pleasures and nutritional benefits consumers demand, without the destructive environmental impact. Our first product, the Impossible Burger, was introduced by top chefs to the world and is currently available at over 16,000 restaurants across the United States and abroad. Impossible Foods is looking for a motivated, mission-aligned person for our Impact team, housed in Communications and Strategic Partnerships.

The Senior Analyst will serve as the point person for excellence in operational sustainability and reporting. She/He will be the primary person responsible for growing existing operational sustainability programming, developing new models of operational sustainability to suit our rapid growth, and for tracking and reporting natural resource footprint data for internal purposes and for investor diligence. This role will also coordinate employee engagement with the environmental and social mission of the business.  She/He will support a team of thought leaders and strategic thinkers. She/He is expected to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the business to guide and resource footprint reduction and data collection across manufacturing, facilities, and product development. They will handle projects from zero waste, carbon footprint reductions and water efficiency to supporting Life Cycle Assessments for new products. She/He will contribute to research analysis initiatives concerning environmental and social sustainability of food systems, as related to Impossible Foods’ business strategy. They will engage with the People Team to pitch in on environmental and social mission and help nurture our company culture. This is a senior analyst role, and the ideal candidate has demonstrated specific experience in sustainability tracking, reporting, and analytics. The successful candidate will play a vital role in scaling the success of sustainability at Impossible Foods, and building durable programming to ensure mission aligned corporate stewardship. Occasional travel may be required to understand and execute sustainability programs outside of HQ, including our co-manufacturing partners and suppliers.

YOU WILL

YOU HAVE

  • 3 to 6 years of wide-ranging operational sustainability, environmental science, and/or engineering roles
  • A track record of devising and implementing best-in-class operational sustainability systems, ideally in a food manufacturing setting

  • A can-do attitude and willingness to be as tactical as needed in our fast-paced startup environment; while you enjoy strategic vision and direction setting, at heart you are a proactive problem solver. While you have high standards, “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of the good.”
